Bringing together like minded Jalops with their mutual love of cars, caffeine and parking lots. Instead of stuck in little silos of specific car or country interest, everyone now gets to hang out and talk cars.
And you don't need to have an expensive car to draw and admiring crowd- as the Dodge Omni Shelby GLHS showed yesterday. Just something cool and unusual.
Where else would the WRX guys rub elbows with the Corvette guys, Italian exotic guys, the BMW and Porsche guys as well as the classic Muscle Cars guys. Its a great place to meet cool people you likely would never get the chance to, and to learn something new about cars you love, or didn't know you loved till that day.
Even at the Richmond VA Cars and Coffee, there was at least three Oppo posters there. Not by plan- just because its Cars and Coffee (I drove over an hour to get there, and I know I wasn't alone in that). Between Cars and Coffee, and the robust social media and forums available to petrolheads I really believe there is no better time to be a car guy (or gal, obviously).
